Welcome to Awe & Wonder

At Awe & Wonder Childminding, I believe in the power of early childhood education. As an experienced early years educator, I am committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children in my care. With a focus on holistic development, the environment at Awe & Wonder encourages children to think, reason, question, and experiment. The carefully designed learning environment and hands-on learning opportunities foster emotional and intellectual growth, allowing young minds to flourish.

About Me.

IMG_6975.jpeg

I'm Heather and I have worked in Early Years and Primary Education since 2012, when I completed my teacher training at North Wheatley C of E Primary. Once completing my training, I went on to become the FS2 teacher, EYFS Leader and then Headteacher in September 2020.

I am passionate about creating an environment and culture that ignites curiosity, awe, and wonder, so that children feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and challenge themselves. It is important that all children have the opportunity to explore, question and learn from a young age; building upon their natural inquisitiveness to become the thinkers and doers of the future. I aim to create beautiful play spaces within a nurturing environment, where children feel safe and free to play.

I am a mum to two brilliant boys. Thinking back upon my maternity leave with my youngest son was my inspiration to become a childminder. During this time, I enjoyed exploring new ways to develop my home environment and set up play that could be accessed not just by my toddler but by my newborn also. It was reflecting on these times and my love for teaching in the foundation stage that led me to make the decision to take a step away from schools and return to early years as a childminder.

A little more about me ... I love listening to music, getting outdoors, art, gymnastics and generally getting creative, muddy and messy. I love to organise and create spaces that make people feel good.
